Wallace :: Birthing Session

So so excited to post about this session! It was actually my second birthing session, but the first one resulted in a c-section, so I wasn't actually able to take photos of the birth. Alisha and I had been in contact for several weeks leading up to this day, and I had kept my fingers crossed the whole time in hopes that it all worked out. Having two toddlers and another job, it was hit or miss, and luckily it ended up as a hit! I had just gotten home from a lighting workshop, and she texted me saying she had been admitted to the hospital at around 3 cm. I knew it would probably be a few hours, so I told her to text me again once she was around 6 cm dilated and I would head on over. At this point, it was about 11 PM. I decided I would try to get some sleep since it would be pretty late into the night/early morning when he decided to make his appearance. I got a text around 1:45 AM saying 'Dilated to 9 cm!!!' I started to panic in fear that I would miss his arrival, but being only 15 minutes from the hospital, I kept my hopes up that I would make it anyway. God had a hand in it for sure, because I drove through all 239 stop lights (not really, but it sure felt like it) without having to stop, and make it there just in time as she hit the 10 cm mark. I literally took a few photos of the details before the nurse said it was time to push. After about 6 pushes, little Wallace had made his arrival. It was 2:08 AM. Saying that being a part of this process was a wonderful experience just doesn't do it. It was amazing to say the least! So so thankful to have been a part of it, even if it was only a 45 minute event! Seeing God's handiwork in action...there's just no way to describe it! Here are a few of baby Wallace's arrival!
